Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can my child participate in both JG Flag Football & Cheer and another fall sport like baseball, soccer, or volleyball?
Yes. Many families successfully participated in both last season, including children who played fall baseball, soccer, and volleyball.

While some sports may have occasional schedule overlaps, many families were able to make both work by communicating with coaches and coordinating schedules. Our goal is to keep JG Flag Football & Cheer flexible and family-friendly so kids can enjoy multiple activities when possible.

Can my child participate in both Mini Muskie (tackle) and JG Flag Football?
It is possible, but it can be more difficult to manage. JG Flag Football & Cheer games are primarily on Saturdays and Mini Muskie games are typically on Sundays, so game-day conflicts are usually minimal.

The biggest challenge tends to be weekday practices. Mini Muskie tackle teams often practice multiple days per week, which can make scheduling difficult. Last season only a small number of families attempted both, and practices were the biggest hurdle.

Families considering both programs should review schedules carefully and decide what works best for their child and their family.

What is the difference between JG Flag Football Cheer and Mini Muskie Cheer?
JG Flag Football Cheer and Mini Muskie Cheer are separate programs with different structures.

JG Flag Football Cheer includes stunting and focuses on building confidence, teamwork, and helping kids develop a love for cheer in a fun, positive environment. Our program is designed to keep the time commitment manageable for families, with most activities centered around game days.

Mini Muskie Cheer is part of the tackle football program and follows a different structure connected to that league.

JG Flag Football & Cheer is designed to be a flexible and affordable option for families while keeping the focus on kids having fun, learning new skills, and being part of a supportive team environment. Our program is supported by a large group of volunteer coaches who are passionate about creating a welcoming experience for every child.

Our goal is to create an environment where kids feel supported, have fun, and stay excited about being part of the sport.

I’m interested in donating to JG Flag Football and Cheer. How can I do that?
Thank you for your support! Donation information can be found at our donation page. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your contributions are tax-deductible, whether personal or business.

Will my flag football player be assigned to an NFL team, like the Cincinnati Bengals?
Yes! Each child will be assigned to a team of 8–10 players with two coaches. Teams are determined after a skills day to create balance and fairness. Afterward, players will find out which team they’ve been “drafted” to. While it’s tough to place everyone on their favorite NFL team, we promise to do our best to make it a fun and exciting experience!
